چکیده

The use of low-cost, locally available and eco-friendly adsorbents has been investigated as an ideal alternative to the current expensive inefficient methods removing dyes from wastewater. This study investigates potential Eggshell extracted chitosan Carbonized Date-Pits in methylene blue dye. Effects adsorption dosage concentration were equally investigated. Langmuir Freundlich Isotherms used model experimental data. It was found that highest removal aqueous solution with a percentage 70% recorded using eggshell while at same (5 mg/L dye solution), carbonized date-pits removed 48.98% From results obtained, processes on fits reasonably well into Isotherm R2 value 0.9502 0.9904 respectively. While date-pits, values 0.934 0.046 respectively which indicates it only Isotherm. result shows both waste materials can effectively be for However, gave best fit processes.

Adsorption of Methylene Blue in Aqueous Phase by Fly Ash, Clay and Walnut Shell as Adsorbents

Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous phase was investigated using three types of adsorbents. Granular solid adsorbents were prepared from waste wood fly ash and clay. Experiments were conducted in a batch system for determining sorption equilibria. For continuous process, the adsorbents were packed in a column to remove MB from the synthetic wastewater. The fabricated adsorbents and also...

Adsorption of Methylene Blue on magnesium silicate: kinetics, equilibria and comparison with other adsorbents.

Batch adsorption from aqueous solutions in a slightly basic medium of Methylene Blue, up to 2500 mg/L, onto synthetic magnesium silicate (Florisil) of three particle size ranges (mean diameters of 112, 200 and 425 microm) was compared to the corresponding adsorption onto activated carbon and Amberlite XAD-2. The best fit of the kinetic results was achieved by a pseudo second-order equation. The...

Effect of activation factors on adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue, by activated bentonite

The aim of this investigation was to study the relationship between activation factors and adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue MB, by activated bentonite. The adsorption index was investigated as a function of acid type, time and temperature. A commercial bentonite was selected as a starting material and the effect of heat treatment on MB adsorption were determined in a batch setup. Thou...

Extraction of Methylene Blue Dye from Polluted Waters Using Some Bio- Adsorbents

Sorbents derived from roots of Tephrosia purpurea, leaves and stems of Terminalia Arjuna and Bivalve snail shells have been explored for their sorption abilities towards Methylene Blue using synthetically prepared simulated waste waters. It is found that at high pHs, these bio-materials have shown strong affinity towards Methylene Blue. The physicochemical properties such as pH, sorbent concent...

A Comparative Study for the Removal of Methylene Blue Dye from Aqueous Solution by Novel Activated Carbon Based Adsorbents

This study was conducted to assess the ability of the studied adsorbent, i.e. raw oak fruit hulls and the activated carbon prepared from oak fruit hull for removing the Methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. This study was conducted under various effective parameters, e.g., contact time, pH, MB concentration, adsorbent concentration. The optimum amount of each parameter was determined a...
